da Vinci Days is Corvallis, Oregon's annual celebration of art, science, and technology[1]. It is held on the third weekend in July; most events take place on or near the Oregon State University (OSU) campus. Like its namesake Leonardo da Vinci, the festival embraces a wide variety of subjects, from creative expression to engineering. The highlight of da Vinci Days is the Kinetic Sculpture Race. The kinetic sculptures are all human-powered, and each team is judged on both costumes and theme and the vehicle's ability to negotiate courses such as a mud bog and a float down the river. Other features of da Vinci Days include a film festival, live musical performances, and activities and displays courtesy of OSU's science and engineering departments.
